Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Reimbursement Officer I for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest, Illinois to interview parents, responsible relatives, guardians and attorneys of admitted individuals to ascertain financial circumstances and ability to pay for individual care. Maintains reimbursement files and coordinates aspects of reimbursement services with other facility offices and community care programs. Processes applications for public and private sources of funding for individual care.
Essential Functions
- Monitors scheduled reimbursement payments from responsible individuals and agencies.
- Prepares receipts for checks and monies received for Trust Fund Accounts and maintains financial records for individuals.
- Maintains reimbursement files and coordinates aspects of reimbursement services with other facility offices and community care programs.
- For non-agency individuals - interviews parents, responsible relatives, guardians and attorneys of admitted individuals to ascertain financial circumstances and ability to pay for individual care.
- Processes applications for public and private sources of funding for individual care, such as for Social Security Benefits, Public Aid insurance coverage, pension funds, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Recommends and, after approval, implements policy, method, and procedure revisions as a result of section staff studies.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in accounting, economics or business administration, preferably including courses in insurance, estate and probate law.
- Requires one (1) year of work experience in the reimbursement field.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, such as personal computers.
- Requires the ability to travel.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
