Position Overview
The IL Department of Natural Resources is seeking to hire a Storekeeper I for The Office of Stategic Services. This position will possess knowledge of agency programs and personnel to determine priority requests, process inquiries for information and publications, select materials from publications stock room and clearinghouse, collect and prepare materials for distribution, distribute State Park magazines according to orders received, work closely with the Bureau of Tourism for orders received, distribute paper to headquarters from other locations using a full pallet on a box truck, and maintain inventory database of materials used for events and programs for documentation and future planning. Essential Functions
- Under general direction, processes a variety of office functions in a Clearinghouse setting.
- Coordinates with agency staff to provide appropriate materials for events.
- Serves as liaison between the department and licensed vendors.
- Maintains filing system of all orders processed and distributed.
- Coordinates printing schedules with agency personnel to coincide with divisional schedules and departmental needs.
- Maintains computerized database used to promote agency programs.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years high school.
- Requires one-year experience in the keeping of stores and stores records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of working knowledge of storeroom and warehouse methods, procedures, inventory record keeping and controls.
- Two (2) years of experience in preparing stock records and reports.
- Two (2) years of experience in performing arduous labor.

Office of Strategic Services
The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) facilitates IDNR’s significant economic impact through the sale of licenses and permits for hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling activities generating millions of dollars in revenue annually for conservation efforts across Illinois, while advocating good conservation and preservation efforts through responsible recreation practices. OSS also has dedicated staff to host special sporting and educational events across the state to boost tourism and educational efforts that have not only an impact at a local level but on a national scale. The OSS provides oversight and support for a variety of special events held year-round. Some are fun and entertaining, while others are educational: state fairs, sport shows, living history reenactments, fishing fairs - the list goes on and on. OSS provides fleet management and administrative services for IDNR properties in districts spread throughout the state of Illinois.
