Position Description and Responsibilities

 

Under direction of the Office Administrator III, performs technical office support functions and technical work for the satellite facilities that is coordinative in nature and involves the calculation of education good conduct credits and earned program sentence credits, encompassing a knowledge of applicable statutes, appellate mandates, and how increments of time are awarded; regulates, monitors, and processes information regarding sentence calculations; responds to inquiries from officials in regards to sentence calculations; keyboards a variety of correspondence.  
 

25%       Performs technical office support functions and technical work that is coordinative in nature.

 

25%       Maintain a complex tracking system as a verification check of offenders to be released.

 

15%       Regulates, monitors, and processes information and documents regarding sentence calculations.

 

10%       Monitors the Offender 360 program to ensure correct data for appropriate time awards, time revocations, projected release dates, adn mandatory release dates.

 

10%       Organizes and maintains all files relating to the education good conduct credits, and the earned program sentence credits.

 

10%       Keyboards a variety of correspondence, reports or other information from hand written hard copy.

 

05%       Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.

Minimum Requirements

 

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental deveoopment equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two years of related office experience, or two years of independent business experience.
  2. Requires extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs.
  3. Requires extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  4. Requires extensive knowledge of basic mathematics.
  5. Requires working knowledge of the logic of computer programs.
  6. Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 WPM.

 

Conditions of Employment

 

  1. Requires the ability to pass the Illinois Department of Corrections background check. 
  2. On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois. Please note that although the law has changed, the Department will continue to enforce the Department’s zero tolerance Drug Testing policy.  The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited. 
  3. Requires ability to work mandatory overtime.
