Essential Functions
- Performs routine tasks in the kitchen, dining room, or other dietary areas.
- Performs routine food distribution and cleanup duties.
- Takes inventory and document daily records of nourishments, leftovers, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures.
- Cleans and maintains sanitary standards of kitchen, washing, scrubbing, mopping, dusting, polishing, or waxing floors, walls, windows, woodwork, furniture, appliances, fixtures, and equipment.
- Assists in preparing Ala Cart menu items, room trays (early or late) sack lunches for outings or medical appointments as needed.
- Rotation for familiarity and knowledge to be proficient in all areas of the Dietary Department.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school SUPPLEMENTED by six (6) months experience in dietary related support service.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to pass a background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical.
- Requires ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
- Requires ability acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
- This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Completion of an Illinois Department of Public Health approved food handling training program and obtain an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of employment.
- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime.
