Essential Functions
- Under general supervision, operates assigned warehouse on assigned shift, processes a variety of general, perishable, industrial, mechanical and office supply items of considerable value.
- Records the receipt of merchandise by manually and electronically processing receiving reports, and verifying the quantity, quality & expiration dates of items received.
- Supports other departments by assisting with requisitions for items necessary to fulfill their work requirements.
- Confers with immediate supervisor regarding special problems for emergency situations and agrees 5% upon a course of action. Initiates emergency purchases as authorized.
- Prepares annual, semi-annual, quarterly and special requisitions and sub-orders for contract items for review and approval. Contacts v-endors for current pricing and specifications of merchandise.
- Opens General Stores on scheduled workdays and secures General Stores at closing time.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years high school.
- Requires one (1) year experience in the keeping of stores and stores records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations of the State Property Control Act.
- Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the activities of the property control personnel.
- Ability to interpret and evaluate property assets, their depreciation, and condemnation.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare accurate inventory reports.
- Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with department staff and subordinates.

- Requires the ability to stand for the duration of the shift, aside from official breaks and lunch period.
- Requires use of agency-supplied equipment (mobile phone, laptop, etc.).
- Requires ability acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
- Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
- This position is considered heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(d)). Heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
