SCHEDULE:   Two (2) possible shifts (Can vary based on mission requirements)

Morning Shift: 5:00am - 1:30pm

Mid Shift:  1:00pm - 9:15pm

Essential Function 1

Supervises the daily activities of teams on assigned shift.  

  • Coordinates activities of a team with other program staff.  
  • Ensures minimum staffing requirements are met and provides assistance to Team Leaders and Sr Assistant Team Leaders in supervision, discipline, and activities of cadets.
  • Serves as Team Leader in his/her absence as needed.  
  • Evaluates and oversees data entry into the Cadet Tracking System.

Essential Function 2

Coordinates with other departments for GED testing, ASVAB testing, career and personal counseling, AA/NA meetings, QUAD meetings, linen and clothing exchange, college placement training, and post resident training sessions.  

Essential Function 3

  1. Assists in the development and implementation of life skills training.
  2. Supervises, coordinates, and assists in the instruction of cadets in living skills.  
  3. Participates in other instructional programs as required

Essential Function 4

  • Participates in cadet disciplinary boards as required.  
  • Makes disciplinary recommendations as necessary.  
  • Supervises disciplinary activities relating to cadets.  
  • Physically restrains recipients with aggressive behavior to restore order in accordance with policy and procedures.  
  • Conducts initial investigations as assigned.

Essential Function 5

  1. Supervises the instruction of cadets in various personal, vocational, and recreational activities and physical training.  
  2. Offers assistance and practical advice to cadets and determines minor disciplinary measures when necessary.
  3. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications 1

Military Applicants:  
Requires six (6) years progressive military experience.  
Requires active membership in the Illinois National Guard, any Reserve Component, or retired Armed Forces. 
Must have received an honorable discharge from the military service.

 

 

Civilian Applicants: Requires six years direct experience working with or leading at-risk adolescents/teenagers in non-profit, governmental or faith-based settings such as youth services, social services, education or law enforcement agencies. 

Preferred Qualifications 1

1.    Associate’s Degree with course work in social science preferred Paraprofessional License 
2.    Completion of Senior Leadership Course (SLC) or the equivalent course preferred.   

Employment Condition 1

1.    Requires the ability to pass a DoD background investigation.
2.    Requires a valid driver’s license in the appropriate classification as required by law.
3.    Required to work a flex work schedule including weekends and evenings when necessary to meet agency needs.
