Position Overview

Under general direction of the Program Director, performs duties of a highly responsible administrative nature. Performs a variety of staff functions; assists in the management control of Facility programs; coordinates and assists with projects associated with monitoring facility operations and network projects; assists in the interpretation and implementation of programs and procedures to verify the efficient functioning of the facility. Prepares reports and proposals and conducts research; reviews policies and procedures affecting the facility and provides input to supervisor. Conducts special review and evaluation decisions. Interprets and explains policies and procedures. Serves as the facility Litigation Coordinator for all lawsuits.

 

Job Responsibilities

1. Serves as staff assistant to the Program Director.

 

2. Serves as correspondence control manager for the Program Director.

 

3. Conducts research and compiles data to assist the Program Director in management control of facility operations, including trends in overtime, personnel movement, auditor general’s findings, internal audit findings, etc.

 

4. Reviews policies and procedures affecting the facility for possible implications.

 

5. Advises and directs staff in the execution of office policies and procedures.

 

6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.

 

2. Requires two years of professional experience in a public or private organization.

 

Conditions of Employment

1. Requires ability to therapeutically interact with residents in a 24/7 residential facility for Sexually Violent Persons.

2. Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.

3. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.

4. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois. Please note that although the law has changed, the Department will continue to enforce the Department’s zero tolerance Drug Testing policy. The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
