Position Overview

 

Under general direction of the Superintendent (Senior Public Service Administrator), serves as assistant to Superintendent; researches, gathers information and independently performs special projects and studies; analyzes and interprets data; develops and prepares special reports; provides guidance and direction staff and youth in resolving problems in the administrative office; coordinates audit assignments to assess and make recommendations for improvements based on system testing and analysis. Serves as liaison with facility management regarding the audits in assigned area. Develops summaries and reports on completed audits for Superintendent's review.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  1. Serves as assistant to Superintendent.
  2. Provides guidance and direction to staff and youth in resolving problems in areas encountered within the scope of the administrative office.
  3. Coordinates audit assignments to assess and make recommendations for improvements based on system testing and analysis.
  4. Local Area Network (LAN) administrator and mini-computer system coordinator.
  5. Serves as liaison with center management regarding the audits in assigned area.
  6. Coordinates interval reviews and audit relative to directives received from general office. 
  7. Develops summaries and reports on completed audits for Superintendent's review to ensure Superintendent is apprised of findings, issues and situations that may impact on the center's administration.
  8. Serves as a Urinalysis Collector for new employees for the facility.
  9. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
  2. Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.

Governor Pritzker announced a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all state employees whose job duties require them to work in a congregate care facility. All 24/7 congregate-care facilities operated by the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice are included in this mandate, which went into effect October 26, 2021.
