Position Overview
The Berm Technician 1 will assist with setting up and tearing down shooting stages; assist with major events; assist with range maintenance (ex: garbage collection, lawn mowing and trimming, berm and bay maintenance, etc.); perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Setting up and tearing down stages
- Setting targets for open range participants
- Upkeep of the pistol/rifle range (garbage collection, lawn mowing, berm and bay maintenance, etc.)
- Inform public of safety procedures
- Assist in repair of props and targets
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to 8 years of elementary education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions;
- Ability to be able to operate farm style equipment (lawn mowers, small tractors, trimmers, etc.) and basic construction tools (drills, etc.)
- Willingness to learn basic competition format;
- Willingness to learn differences in firearms and calibers.
Employment Conditions
All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment, with or without reasonable accommodation, to be considered for this position.
- Must be a minimum of 17 years old;
- Possession of a valid Drivers License;
- Requires ability to lift, carry, transports loads up to 50 pounds;
- Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities;
- Requires ability to work most weekends, with occasional evening or holiday for events;
- Ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including some longs shifts up to 9-10 hours;
- Ability to pass background check;
- Requires ability to legally be around firearms.
