Position Overview

The Berm Technician I for the World Shooting and Recreation Complex will be responsible to assist with set up and tear down of shooting stages; assist with major events; assist with range maintenance (ex: garbage/debris collection, lawn mowing and trimming, berm and bay maintenance, etc.); perform other duties as assigned. 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Set up and tear down stages and set targets for open range participants.

  2. Upkeep of pistol/rifle range (garbage/debris collection, lawn mowing, etc.)

  3. Inform public of safety procedures.

  4. Assist in repair of shooting props and targets.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Requires knowledge, skills, and mental development equivalent to completion of eight (8) years of school.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Ability to follow simple written and oral instructions.
  2. Ability to operate farm equipment (lawn mowers, small tractors, etc.) in a method following all safety protocols.
  3. Willingness to learn basic competition format.
  4. Ability to operate basic construction tools (drills, saws, etc.).
  5. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, difference in firearms and calibers.
  6. Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy transport loads (60 +/- pounds) for events, as needed, with or without assistance.

Employment Conditions

  1. Requires ability to pass background check.
  2. Possession of valid Drivers License. 
  3. Minimum of 17 years of age.
  4. Consistent reliable transportation to get to work.
  5. Must be legally eligible to be around firearms.
  6. Requires the ability to work during inclement weather.
  7. Requires ability to work outside, most weekends, with occasional evening, and some long shift up to 9 hours.

Work Hours:  Variable:  Part time, schedules will normally be 7-9 hr. shifts, Wed.-Sun., with occasional evening shift.
