This is a Contractual position for events held at the World Shooting & Recreation Complex.

Position Overview

Scorers and Loaders are responsible for keeping official tally's of shooters' scores as they compete in events, must be knowledgeable (or willing to learn) official shooting rules and safety protocols and procedures; will restock target throwing machines throughout events; will assist with cleaning fields during/after events; assist with set-up/tear-down and cleaning areas before/after events; wash and distribute water jugs during events; assist with light groundskeeping.  

Essential Functions

Scorers will have responsibilities that include:

  1. Accurately keep/tally scores for competitors.
  2. Serve as referee for events.

 

Loaders will have responsibilities that include:

  1. Ensure target throwing machines always have sufficient amount of targets in them.
  2. Serve as referee for events.

 

Scorers/Loaders both have responsibilities that include:

  1. Cleaning fields during/after shooting events.
  2. Assist with other events to set up tables/chairs.
  3. Wash/distribute water jugs for hudration stations.
  4. Clean up areas before/after/during events.
  5. Haul trash, tear down boxes and bail cardboard.
  6. Litter pick up detail.
  7. Shotgun hull pickup/disposal.
  8. Light groundskeeping.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires education, knowledge, and mental development equivalent to an 8th grade education.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Prefers knowledge of firearm safety.

Conditions of Employment

All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment, with or without reasonable accommodation, to be considered for this position:

  1.  Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
  2. Requires ability to lift, carry, transport loads up to 25 pounds.
  3. Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities;
  4. Requires availability on most weekends; and some nights or holidays for events.
  5. Ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including some long shifts up to 9-10 hours.
  6. Ability to pass background check.
  7. Required ability to legally be around firearms.
