Position Overview
The Special Events Technician I will assist with preparation and maintenance of the WSRC Facilities, providing a safe, dean, and well-maintained facility for securing, promoting, and hosting a variety of Special Events. Assist with set up and tear down of WSRC held Events, providing access to secured areas as needed for lessees to view, set up, hold, and tear down Lessee held events.
Special Events Tech I will serve as supervisor of Special Event Scorer/Loaders and volunteers assisting with Special Event operations in locations other than shooting ranges. Ensure all tasks are completed in timely manner, while operating in compliance with all lDNR methods and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of the WSRC facilities to include: set-up tables/chairs, clean/sanitize up areas before/during/after events including restrooms, haul trash, litter pickup, light groundskeeping including lawn mowing, weedeating; operate equipment for floor scrubbing/cleaning.
- Supervisor staff and volunteers for Special Event operations.
- Ensure tasks are completed in timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill level and mental development equivalent to completion of an 8th grade education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers ability to follow oral and written instructions;
- Prefers ability to operate simple equipment such as UTV, zero turn lawn mower and weed eater, other lawn maintenance equipment, etc.
Employment Conditions

- Must be a minimum of 17 years old;
- Possession of a valid Drivers License;
- Requires capability to lift, carry, transport up to 25 pounds;
- Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities including manual maintenance/labor tasks;
- Requires the ability to work most weekends, and some evenings or holidays for events;
- Ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC with occasional long shifts up to 9-10 hours;
- Ability to pass background check;
- Requires ability to legally be around firearms.
