Position Overview
The Special Events Technician l will ensure our WSRC facility is world-class-safe, clean, well-groomed and well-maintained. Your work directly enables us to secure, promote, and host a variety of Events, from International Competitions to private rentals. The Special Event Tech I will set up and tear down WSRC held events, act as a point of contact for lessees, providing secure access and logistical support during site visits, setups, and event days, work with a team to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety across the WSRC grounds to provide an exceptional experience for every guest. Perform other duties at WSRC facility as assigned which are reasonably within scope of duties enumerated above.
Essential Functions
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of the WSRC facilities which will include set-up tables/chairs, clean/sanitize areas before/during/after events including restrooms, large meeting spaces, haul trash, litter pickup.
- Perform light groundskeeping including, mowing and weed eating.
- Work with additional staff to ensure tasks are completed in timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires education, knowledge, and mental development equivalent to a minimum of an 8th grade education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Capability to work effectively alongside a team of seasonal workers and volunteers to maintain a professional environment.
- Ability to operate simple equipment such as UTV, zero turn lawn mower and weed eater, other lawn maintenance equipment, leaf blowers, pressure washer, floor cleaning machine etc.
Employment Conditions
All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment, with or without reasonable accommodation, to be considered for this position.
- Minimum age of 17 possessing a valid DL.
- Requires ability to be around firearms.
- Requires capability to lift, carry, transport up to 25 pounds.
- Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities including manual maintenance/labor tasks.
- Requires the ability to work most weekends, and some evenings or holidays for events.
- Requires ability to work in all climates and weather conditions.
- Ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC with occasional long shifts up to 10 hours.
- Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure criminal history.
