Position Overview
The Special Event Technician II will be responsible for preparation and maintenance of the WSRC Facilities, providing a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility for securing, promoting, and hosting a variety of Special Events. Will have minimum of 1 year experience in making minor Carpentry, Plumbing, and Electrical repairs; regularly inspect facilities making minor repairs or improvements and report to the Executive Director’s Office any necessary repairs needing materials or contracted vendor requests.
Will complete set up and tear down of WSRC held Events, providing access to secured areas as needed for lessees to view, set up, hold, and tear down Lessee held events. Special Event Tech II will oversee Special Events Technician I, lower-level staff and any volunteers assisting with Special Event operations in locations other than shooting ranges. Will ensure all tasks are completed in timely manner, while operating in compliance with all lDNR methods and procedures. and assist in providing oversight of Special Event Scorer/Loaders. Perform other duties at WSRC facility as assigned which are reasonably within scope of duties enumerated above.
Essential Functions
- Ensure preparation and maintenance of the WSRC facilities is completed.
- Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs.
- Oversee and assign maintenance, janitorial and groundskeeping work for Special Event Tech 1 and lower-level staff and volunteers.
- Assist with set-up to include set-up tables/chairs, cleaning of facilities before/during/after events, haul trash, litter pick-up, light groundskeeping such as lawn mowing, weed eating, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill level and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
- Requires minimum of 1 year experience in making minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Prefers ability to operate simple equipment such as UTV; lawnmower; weed eater, etc.
Employment Conditions

- Must of 17 years old possessing a valid DL.
- Requires ability to legally be around firearms.
- Requires capability to lift, carry, transport up to 25 pounds.
- Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities including manual maintenance/labor tasks.
- Requires ability to work in all climates and weather conditions.
- Requires availability to work most weekends, and some nights or holidays.
- Requires ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including some long shifts up to 9-10 hours.
- Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure criminal history.
