Position Overview

The Sporting Clays Technician 1 will assist the manager on day-to-day operation duties; perform routine maintenance on electronics and trap machines; test and regulate batteries on machines and electronics; assist manager in preparation of shooting events (setting course, loading machines); must responsibly operate UTV and other small equipment (forklift, sporting clays machines, etc.); must be able to work independently; clean up debris on courses; secure and maintain a safe shooting line-of-fire. Perform other duties at WSRC facility as assigned which are reasonably within scope of duties enumerated above.

Essential Functions

• Ensure machines are loaded and operate properly
• Secure and maintain a safe shooting line-of-fire
• Ensure trash is picked up regularly
• Prepare for events
• Keep batteries ready to place on course

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires education, knowledge, and mental development equivalent to a minimum of an 8th grade education.  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefers previous experience at World Shooting & Recreation Complex
• Prefers ability to operate simple equipment such as sporting clays machine, forklift, UTV, etc.

• Minimum age of 17 possessing a valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to be around Firearms.
• Requires ability to lift, carry, and transport loads up to 25 pounds.
• Required physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities.
• Requires ability to work in all climates and weather conditions
• Requires the ability to work most weekends, with an occasional evening or holiday.
• Have ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including some long shifts up to 9-10 hours.
• Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure criminal history.
