The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Services is seeking to hire a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our Bureau of Statewide Field Account Reconciliation Operations in the role of Account Adjustment Manager. This position will serve as a full line supervisor in addition to assigning and reviewing work. The position will also, plan, develop, and implement procedures for processing of calculating financial obligations and support balances related to child support accounts.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills to be successful in performing the duties of Account Adjustment Manager for the South Team.

Essential Functions

  • Subject to management approval, serves as the Account Adjustment Manager in planning, directing, and evaluating accounting, account maintenance, and account service functions for the Account Adjustment-South Team
  • Serves as a full line supervisor
  • Identifies system issues which impact manual account review and adjustments
  • Plans, directs, and conducts monthly team meetings to discuss policy, procedures, personnel, operations, and other topics
  • Reviews, analyzes, and implements current policies, procedures, federal regulations, and accounting methods and techniques
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the fields of fiscal management, accounting, budgeting, internal auditing, insurance, and/or finance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of professional experience working in the child support field
  • Two (2) years of professional experience applying state and federal child support laws and policies
  • Two (2) years developing and managing a supportive program for a public or private organization
  • Two (2) years professional experience analyzing administrative problems to develop an effective course of action
  • Two (2) years of experience conducting professional team meetings
  • Two (2) years of experience conducting performance evaluations
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff and approving time off

Conditions of Employment

  • This position requires the ability to pass a national background check prior to employment due to accessing confidential federal tax information
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
  • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
