Position Overview

The Office of Fiscal Services is seeking to hire an Account Technician I at the Bureau of Collection Services located in Springfield, Illinois. The incumbent establishes, controls, and maintains accounting records for the Bureau of Collections; confers with staff in Local Offices and other unit and bureau staff to resolve accounting problems; assists accounting staff with difficult financial reports by collecting, reviewing and processing data contained in daily and periodic reports for active and delinquent accounts for programs and facilities within the Division of Rehabilitation Services, Bureau of Child Care & Development and numerous other State agencies, including Mental Health/Division of Disabilities (MH/DD) Facilities; and makes recommendations to management to resolve discrepancies and/or problems in establishment and maintenance of client accounts, account balances, crediting of accounts, multiple accounts, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Establishes, controls, and maintains accounting records for the Bureau of Collections.
  2. Confers with staff in Local Offices and other unit and bureau staff to resolve accounting problems.
  3.   5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
