POSITION SUMMARY

The Central Management Services (CMS) Division of Vehicles Contract/Obligations/Accounts Payable (AP) section is seeking to hire a professional Account Technician I. This position will examine, audit, review, and analyze financial files, documents, and reports for the State Garage Revolving Fund (SGRF). This position will verify contractual service agreements and proper account codes during the approval process of vendor payments. This position also provides support and assists other AP Section staff with examining and analysis of monthly billings for garage shops and fuel. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Under general supervision, examines, audits, reviews and analyzes financial files, documents, and reports for the State Garage Revolving Fund (SGRF).
  • Verifies through established processes the compliance of CMS procurement policies, contractual service agreements and proper account codes in accordance with the Comptroller’s Uniform Statewide Accounting System (CUSAS) codes during the approval process of vendor payments.
  • Updates pertinent accounting files, i.e., site receiving documentation, batch sheets, vendor payments, contracts, and amendments, change of address information, rate agreement contracts, spending history, etc.
  • Provides support and assists AP Section staff with examining and analysis of monthly billings for garage shops and fuel.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and completion of an approved training course or three years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
  • Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefers one (1) year of professional experience applying established accounting methods and techniques.
  • Prefers one (1) year of professional experience gaining knowledge of state or non-state accounting procedures.
  • Prefers one (1) year of professional experience utilizing standard accounting software applications such as Microsoft Excel or other comparable spreadsheet applications.
  • Prefers one (1) year of professional experience gaining knowledge of office methods and procedures.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This position requires the applicant to pass a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This may require the ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Requires the ability to use agency technology/equipment (i.e., mobile phone, laptop, etc.) properly in accordance with information security awareness policies and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Requires the ability to bend, squat, and walk upstairs.
  • Requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.
