Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire three Account Technician 2's for the Office of Fiscal Management. This position will coordinate the auditing and entry of expenditures to the Department’s automated accounting system and close books and balances monthly, audit and verify voucher information for completeness and accuracy, assist with programmatic timesheet maintenance, and will reconcile expenditures monthly by line and fund to the Comptroller’s Monthly Appropriation Ledger Report. Essential Functions
- Under general direction, independently performs technical accounting work in the maintenance of state funds.
- Coordinates with Comptroller’s office.
- Serves as liaison with regional, divisional, administrative personnel and vendors.
- Assists in the preparation of budgetary documents.
- Maintain filing system for internal use and auditing purposes.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and one year of technical accounting experience or four years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of extensive knowledge of accounting techniques.
- Two (2) years of extensive knowledge of office methods and procedures.
- Two (2) years of working knowledge of state or non-state accounting procedures.
- Two (2) years of experience using established accounting methods and techniques.
