POSITION SUMMARY

The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Bureau of Benefits is seeking to hire an Account Technician II for the Deferred Compensation Division. The ideal candidate for this position will be organized, detail orientated, and excited to help State of Illinois employees successfully prepare for their retirement by providing technical support to the State of Illinois Deferred Compensation Plan (Plan). Under the supervision of the Division's Investments Unit Manage, the Account Technician II position will be responsible for performing a variety of technical accounting work. facilitating the investment optional payroll contributions, and assisting participants with optional Plan provisions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and one (1) year of technical accounting experience or four (4) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefers three (3) years of professional experience with accounting techniques and of State and non-State accounting
    procedures.
  • Prefers two (2) years of professional experience with principles and functions of standard office accounting machines and
    equipment.
  • Prefers three (3) years of professional experience with office methods and procedures.
  • Prefers two (2) years of professional experience performing account reconciliations that involve detailed searches through
    documents and files.
  • Prefers two (2) years of professional experience with computer applications and software such as Microsoft Office Suite
    including, but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet, database, imaging, and mainframe.
  • Prefers ability to review detailed work including written or numerical data and make calculations rapidly and accurately.
  • Prefers ability to work independently on projects, assessing situations, and writing reports to convey the results to
    management.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This may require the ability to work evenings and weekends.
