POSITION SUMMARY

The Central Management Services (CMS) Division of Vehicles Central Garage is seeking to hire a highly motivated and professional Account Technician II. This position receives, audits, reviews for accuracy, processes, and approves invoices for payment. This position will also assist the Central Garage Supervisor in the preparation of obligation documents. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Under direction of the Central Garage supervisor, independently performs technical accounting work in maintaining a complex, complete set of general account books for the State Garage Revolving Fund (SGRF).
  • Performs purchasing and/or support functions for the Division of Vehicles.
  • Performs paraprofessional, specialized office support functions in the Collinsville State Garage.
  • Answers technical questions from vendors regarding billing procedures.

  • Serves as receptionist, receiving, routing incoming calls and customer service.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and one (1) year of technical accounting experience or four years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefers two (2) years of professional experience utilizing standard accounting software applications such as Microsoft Excel or other comparable spreadsheet applications.
  • Prefers two (2) years of professional experience applying established accounting methods and techniques.
  • Prefers working knowledge of state and/or non-state accounting procedures.
  • Prefers one (1) year of professional experience with office methods and procedures. 
  • Prefers one (1) year of professional experience with operating commonly used manual and automated office equipment and performing routine maintenance.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This position requires the applicant to pass a background check.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime.
  • Requires the ability to travel. 
  • Requires the ability to bend, squat, and walk upstairs.
  • Requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.
