Position Overview
The Office of Fiscal Services is seeking to hire an Accountant to perform professional accounting procedures involving the maintenance of a support system for the Department’s receipt accounts. This position identifies and prepares transmittal documents to process Treasurer drafts and checks and posts receipts to the Department’s accounting system.
Job Responsibilities

Conducts research to determine the appropriateness of checks received by the Department.

Identifies and prepares receipts transmittal documents to process Treasurer drafts and checks sent to the State Comptroller.

Reconciles daily bank recap reports with the Department’s accounting system report to ensure previous day deposit information balance.

Reviews and processes weekly private collector and Comptroller involuntary withholding payments on receivable accounts.

Maintains the Department’s receipts ledger, ensures ledger is accurate and current.

Serves in rotation of scanning receipts and refund monetary instruments to the Statewide contracted financial institution.

Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in business administration and accounting or four (4) years of technical accounting experience.
*Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.
