Position Overview

The Division of Natural Resources is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant to bring positive energy to the workplace, provide human resources guidance, and execute efficient operational support. This position will support the Division Manager, Bureau Chiefs, and other division personnel. The Administrative Assistant II role offers an opportunity to become a trusted partner and colleague to an executive team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and enjoy working on multiple projects to maintain a productive office.  The successful candidate will work closely with a division staff of over 100 team members in the performance of human resources, budget, payroll, and administrative support activities. We welcome interested applicants who can help lead and manage business operations inside this exciting and unique environment.

Job Responsibilities

25%  1. Interprets, explains, implements and monitors human resources procedures, policies, laws and regulations.

20%  2. Compiles employee time and payroll data from time reports and other records.

20%  3. Coordinates workflow to and from the Division Manager’s office, working with all Division staff to complete work in a timely manner.

20%  4. Reconciles expenditures with approved budget.

05%  5. Receives various payments and fees.

05%  6. Attends various meetings and seminars to keep informed about current rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

05%  7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
  2. Requires two years of professional experience in a public or private organization
