Position Overview

Under administrative direction, performs independent duties relevant to the daily administration and operation of Fiscal Services.  Provides a variety of professional, responsible assignments; assists in the management control of office programs.  Conducts special review and evaluation projects for manager; assures the development of needed information for management decisions.  Interprets and explains office policies and procedures. Coordinates personnel transactions and mail control for the Office.   

Job Responsibilities

35%   1.  Serves as highly responsible staff assistant to the Manager of Office of Fiscal Services.  Serves as staff assistant handling special projects.

 

30%   2.  Coordinates the work flow to and from the manager’s office. Reviews incoming correspondence including Legislative mail control documents.

 

15%   3.  Serves as liaison with other administrative, management, and staff within DHS as well as other agencies and the general public.

 

10%   4.  Coordinates all personnel transactions for the office which contain administrative, personnel, and labor relations information including grievance and discipline.

 

  5%   5.  Coordinates and maintains schedule for Manager, including meeting and travel arrangements, agendas, and compilation of support documents.

 

  5%   6.  Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years college, preferably with courses in public or business administration. 
  • Requires two years professional experience in a public or private organization.
