Position Statement:  The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security (IEMA-OHS) is seeking an Administrative Assistant I for the Division of Electronic Products. This position provides an opportunity to work both independently and in collaboration with other Agency employees and the members of the public. Essential Functions

1. Assists the supervisor by providing frequent communication with technologists, their employers, and the general public.

2. Updates Technologist Accreditation and Industrial Radiography Program databases, generates and analyzes monthly statistical reports, generates specific reports of continuing education credit for individual technologists, and generates notices.

3. Composes clearly understood letters in response to diversified inquiries.

4. Performs the duties of assigned team position as specified in the Standard Operating procedures of the Illinois Plan for Radiological Accidents.

5. Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
2. Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a public or private organization.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Three (3) years of experience providing administrative support in a public or private business organization.
2. Two (2) years of professional experience communicating verbally and in writing with various audiences across multiple forms of media.
3. Two (2) years of professional experience supporting project management, including development of trackers, and supporting adherence to deadlines.
4. Two (2) years of professional experience supporting multiple projects and ensuring accuracy and attention to details.
5. Two (2) years of experience working both independently and collaboratively to promote the values and missions of a public or private organization.

Conditions of Employment

1. Requires a criminal history check through the Illinois State Police.
2. Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
3. Requires the ability to use state-issued equipment such as cell phone, laptop, etc.
