Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, results-oriented professional to serve as Assistant Chief Accountability Officer. Under administrative direction, this position will serve as second-in-command for the DCFS Grant Accountability and Transparency Section, providing technical assistance and oversight of unit activities to assist the Chief Accountability Officer in ensuring the Department’s compliance with 2 CFR 200, 30 ILCS 708 Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) and related federal and state rules and regulations. The position will serve as full line supervisor and review unit activities to ensure the Department’s state grant programs are compliant with GATA. Additionally, this position will manage pre-award and post-award activities, working closely with providers, grantees, and Department staff. Essential Functions
- Serves as Assistant Chief Accountability Officer
- Reviews unit activities to ensure the Department’s state grant programs are compliant with GATA
- Works closely with providers, grantees, and Department staff to assist with pre- and post-award GATA activities
- Serves as full line supervisor
- Provides input into program monitoring compliance reviews and internal and external audit preparation activities for federal and state funded programs and contracts
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college
- Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers 3 years of professional experience with the implementation of 2 CFR 200 and 30 ILCS 708 Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) or similar legislation, statutes, or guidelines in a public or private organization
- Prefers 3 years of experience interpreting and developing administrative rules and/or departmental policies and procedures in a public or private organization
- Prefers 2 years of professional experience in federal and/or state grant administration, program monitoring, and/or auditing
- Prefers 3 years of professional experience meeting deadlines, with strong attention to detail and the ability to utilize critical thinking skills while multi-tasking, prioritizing, and tracking the progress of numerous projects
- Prefers completion of a master’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, or finance
