Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Audit Approval Unit Supervisor.  Under administrative direction, this position will direct the operations of the Audit Approval Unit in the receipt and auditing of monthly claim vouchers from all providers.  This position will lead the Department’s use of statewide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and coordinate ERP with other subordinate computer accounting systems and applications. Essential Functions

  • Serves as Audit Approval Unit Supervisor
  • Serves as full line supervisor
  • Serves as liaison for the division as it relates to computerized accounting system maintenance and access to information related to the appropriation accounting and payment systems
  • Directs and coordinates the Department’s use of statewide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and other computer accounting system applications functions to complete statutorily required reports or procedures
  • Reviews computerized appropriation accounting and payment systems, including financial reports
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business administration or accounting
  • Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of professional management experience in the accounting, auditing, or financial area of a public or business organization
  • 3 years of professional experience working with accounting and auditing systems in a public or business organization
  • 3 years of professional experience with query development or BI applications
  • 3 years of experience supervising professional staff in a public or business organization
  • 3 years of professional experience serving in a liaison capacity for a public or business organization
