Position Overview:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Bureau of Claims Processing, is seeking to hire a self-motivated and detail-oriented Account Technician II in the Adjustment Unit. This position is responsible for performing technical accounting work, verifying and reconciling billings from vendors of Healthcare and Family Services, performing entry of payments into accounting databases, and assist in the general execution of inter and intra-agency financial processes as well as serving as a technical expert in the Adjustment Unit. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to continue education and training, be able to prioritize their daily tasks, and get work completed in a timely manner while meeting deadlines. The candidate will also possess critical thinking and analytic abilities and have a general understanding of accounting practices.

Essential Functions
- Under direction, serves as an Account Technician II for the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS), Bureau of Claims Processing by performing technical accounting work.
- Verifies and reconciles billings from vendors providing services to HFS.
- Assists in the execution of inter and intra-agency financial processes.
- Executes research of inquires received from the Comptroller’s Office.
- Manages a system for the storage and retrieval of payment and dispute documents.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and one (1) year of technical accounting experience or four (4) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
- Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop.
