This position is responsible for activating and terminating building and secured-area access for Agency employees and coordinating telecommunications requests. Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, functions as a Badging and Telecommunications Coordinator for the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR).
  • Performs a variety of complex and specialized technical support duties for the Space Management & Technical Services Section.
  • Performs complex administrative support duties requiring independent decision-making.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college and one year of office experience, -OR- Requires completion of high school and three years of office experience, -OR- three years of independent business experience.

Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience submitting service application and equipment requests for Telecom services.
  • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
  • Two (2) years of experience preparing and maintaining schedules, tracking systems, records and reports to ensure compliance with statutes, rules, regulations and policies.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience writing and implementing written instructions and/or procedures, including proofreading of those documents.
  • One (1) year of experience coordinating multiple projects, assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a customer service environment.
  • Basic proficiency using Microsoft Access or similar database software.

Conditions of Employment

  1. Requires the ability to successfully complete a tax compliance and fingerprint-based background check.
  2. Requires the ability to use and secure a state issued mobile device, e.g., cellular phone, laptop computer, tablet, etc.
  3. Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
