Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Budget Office Data & Systems Manager. Under administrative direction, this position will serve as technical lead on systems development impacting financial, budget & rate setting functioning. This position includes completion of business process analysis and automation to increase staff efficiency and data accuracy. The position will also provide high level information technology expertise to the Budget Chief. This position will develop and implement statewide policies and procedures relative to data and systems management within the DCFS Budget Office. Essential Functions
- Serves as Data and Systems Manager for the Budget Office in the DCFS Division of Budget and Finance
- Serves as technical lead on systems development impacting financial, budget & rate setting functioning
- Provides oversight of budget office data
- Develops Business Intelligence (BI) processes to increase productivity, improve decision making processes, and improve the accuracy of data.
- Plans, develops, and provides ad hoc queries and data analysis
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with a specialization in computer science.
- Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in computer operations
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of professional experience managing data and systems for a public or business organization.
- 3 years of professional experience developing Business Intelligence processes for a public or business organization.
- 3 years of professional experience providing leadership on data and systems development for the finance area of a public or business organization.
- 3 years of professional experience serving as subject matter expert regarding information technology for a public or business organization.
- 3 years of professional experience serving in a liaison capacity with external entities for a public or business organization.
