Job Summary

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Quality & Compliance, this position will collaborate with key business users, cross-functional teams and IT staff to ensure IT solutions meet business needs. The incumbent will develop, interpret, review, validate, document and maintain business and functional requirements for software applications.

 

This position serves as the primary interface between business users and IT staff to determine feasibility, research, identify and present options that best serve TRS business needs. This position may be required to present formal presentations to end users, stakeholders and management.  In addition, this position will participate in application acceptance testing, identify potential problems, and assist with researching opportunities to minimize complexity and develop stronger systems and processes.

Essential Functions

  • Communicate and collaborate with users and technical resources to determine business objectives and requirements, resolve issues and create solutions in a creative and effective manner.
  • Serve on cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Coordinate and facilitate business strategy and process improvement meetings with users.  Capture meeting minutes and document clear and concise requirements.
  • Prepare user stories of business processes and requirements.
  • Evaluate business requests and work with the team to determine feasibility.  Research and identify areas for improvement or options that best serve business needs.
  • Analyze, research and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies, develop stronger systems and processes, and to minimize complexity by leveraging IT resources and seeking out cost-effective solutions. 
  • Identify potential problems or issues that may arise with new or enhanced applications and effectively communicate the potential impact on day-to-day operations and/or project costs.
  • Write business correspondence, technical reports and system specifications to support the design of technical solutions.  Review report results for accuracy.

  • Work with the application development team to design solutions that meet business requirements. 
  • Assist the Quality Assurance team in preparing user acceptance criteria, test cases, scripts and plans.  Participate in acceptance testing to ensure user needs are met.
  • Effectively communicate plans and conduct structured walkthroughs of requirements with cross-functional team members, business users and management. 
  • Present formal presentations to end users, stakeholders and management when requested.
  • Participate in change management activities, training, and support to end users.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Communications or related field or relative years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience with pension administration or information technology including:
    • 2+ years assisting with an IT project or implementation
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt and efficient service to the business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills catering messages to both business and technical audiences
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and planning skills
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile
