Position Overview

Capital Development Board (CDB) is hiring a CDB Project Technician to be part of our construction team. This position is accountable for monitoring the design and contruction phase of capital projects, tracking and reporting, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the construction department for CDB. Essential Functions

  • Monitors the design and construction phase of capital projects for CDB.
  • Reviews Certificates of Substantial Completion Packages and Final Closeout Packages for completeness and accuracy.
  • Initiates tracking and reporting in Project Management System for all CDB projects.
  • Assures that proper signatures and bonding company attachments and approvals are submitted by contractors.
  • Extracts project tracking data for various reports.
  • Provides effective communications with architect/engineer firms, contractors and CDB staff and provides administrative support to the regional manager as assigned.
  • Assists with training.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  • Requires two (2) years of related office experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers two (2) years of experience in construction related field
  • Prefers two (2) years of experience in analyzing, prioritizing, evaluating and solving problems.
  • Prefers two (2) years of experience developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with management, staff, members of government agencies, and representatives of the construction community.
  • Prefers two (2) years of experience working with application software including word processing, spreadsheet and database software for office use.
  • Prefers two (2) years of experience assembling a range of information and arranging in report format.

About the Agency
The Capital Development Board (CDB) oversees the construction of new state facilities, such as correctional centers, state parks, mental health facilities and college and university projects. In addition, CDB is responsible for renovation and rehabilitation projects at over 8,770 state-owned buildings spread over more than 100 million square feet of floor space.
