Position overview:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Finance, Bureau of Fiscal Operations is seeking to hire a Child Support Deposits Processor in the Distribution Processing Unit. This position is responsible for conducting professional accounting and analysis activities in the maintenance and examination of complex and detailed records involved in the Child Support Collection System for the Department; monitoring deposits to the Division of Child Support Services Trust Fund; reviewing and auditing all warrant assistance payment records for which a stop payment has been requested; reviewing and independently determining proper disposition of returned child support warrants; and serving as a liaison for the Bureau in the disposition of lost or stolen warrants. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to learn financial audit requirements, specifically for child support collections and warrants, ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The preferred candidate will have experience creating complex reports and spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and be able to prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion.

Essential Functions
- Under general supervision, serves as a Child Support Deposits Processor for the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Finance, Bureau of Fiscal Operations (BFO) by conducting professional accounting and analysis activities in the maintenance and examination of complex and detailed records involved in the Child Support Collection System for the Department
- Monitors deposits to the CSS Trust Fund (957 fund)
- Reviews and audits all warrant assistance payment records for which a stop payment has been requested
- Reviews and independently determines proper disposition of returned child support warrants
- Serves as liaison for BFO in the disposition of lost or stolen warrants
- Assists supervisor with preparation of Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement 34A Report
- Examines financial reports for child support receipts
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, with courses in business administration and accounting or four years of technical accounting experience
- Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification
