Position overview: 

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Medical Programs, Bureau of Technical Services is seeking to hire a Claims Tech Support Analyst in the claims support area of the bureau. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex tasks in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with excellent communication abilities, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset to support our claims team efficiently. The Claims Tech Support Analyst will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations and providing critical support to the department and Medicaid customers working with the state. The ideal candidate will successfully work with vendors, collaborate with teams, be analytical, and have experience granting and removing access to various applications.

Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as a Claims Tech Support Analyst by organizing, planning, and evaluating the statewide Medicaid claim systems
  • Designs and organizes Medicaid claims test plans
  • Organizes, plans and evaluates contractual requirements for system support of cloud vendors
  • Plans, organizes, and directs administrative development of educational program designs
  • Plans and develops program and policy initiatives identified by the Bureau Chief to the point of implementation
  • Serves as administrative liaison to Medicaid providers and DoIT
  • Confers with other Bureaus and State Agencies to provide information relating to the statewide Medicaid claims systems
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration
  • Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of professional experience working with vendors to review contractual deliverables for information technology systems
  • Two (2) years of professional experience working in systems to properly grant access and understand segregation of duties in role-based access
  • Two (2) years of experience maintaining, storing, and reviewing agency information technology contractual documents
  • Two (2) years of experience working with the principles and practices of public and business administration
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and managing a supportive program for a public or private organization
  • Two (2) years of professional experience developing comprehensive documentation of statewide system/subsystem processes
  • Two (2) years of experience conducting in-depth research of business requirements
  • Proficiency in formulating and executing test plans, with specialized expertise in performing X12 transaction set testing

  • Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
  • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends
