Position overview:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Medical Programs is seeking a Supervisor to serve as the NIPS and Other Systems Lead within the Bureau of Technical Support. This is a dynamic position working directly with the NIPS system and other peripheral systems across the Medicaid Enterprise. The position requires the ability to understand system architecture, interfaces, data exchanges, and business processes surrounding the NIPS and MMIS systems and the transfer to downstream systems. The Bureau of Technical Support offers staff the ability to continue to grow and learn through system implementations across the Division of Medical Programs. The position will provide a learning opportunity for the Impact MMIS system along with many other systems across the Medicaid Enterprise.

Essential Functions
- Subject to management approval, serves as Claims Tech Support Supervisor by planning, directing, and evaluating the analysis, project development, design, documentation, testing and implementation of the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) within the Non-Institutional Providers (NIPS) and other systems/subsystems
- Serves as working supervisor
- Directs and evaluates diverse activities relative to the design, development, and implementation of administrative and operational procedures
- Directs and evaluates the completion of specific segments of the design and development phases, research and analysis of policy questions, and the documentation and summarization of user needs
- Directs major projects in the MMIS Program
- Serves as liaison to the Department of Innovation and Technology technical staff
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization
Specialized Skills
- Two (2) years of experience working with 837P and 837D formats as they pertain to processing medical claims and payments
- Two (2) years of experience working with fee for services claims payment methodologies and other payment methodologies for hospital and non-institutional medical claims
- Two (2) years of experience utilizing a Medicaid Management Information System and Enterprise Data Warehouse for data analysis, claiming history and claiming inquiries specifically for Non-Institutional Providers
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with 837P and 837D formats as they pertain to processing medical claims and payments
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with fee for services claims payment methodologies and other payment methodologies for hospital and non-institutional medical claims
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience utilizing a Medicaid Management Information System and Enterprise Data Warehouse for data analysis, claiming history and claiming inquiries specifically for Non-Institutional Providers
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience translating policy into technical specifications for a system
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience directing complex research and analysis of a medical system
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing or implementing policies and procedures for a public or private organization
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising staff
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing and managing a supportive program for a public or private organization
