This position serves as the serves as the Confidential Assistant to the Deputy Secretary for the Department of Innovation & Technology performing functions of a highly responsible administrative nature. In this role you will provide assistance and support to the Deputy Secretary with confidential and complex administrative tasks in the planning, development and execution of operations and policies for the department. In addition, you will coordinate special projects and assignments with DoIT executive staff, some of which are complex and sensitive in nature. Essential Functions
- Under general direction serves as the Confidential Assistant to the Deputy Secretary for the Department of Innovation & Technology performing functions of a highly responsible administrative nature.
- Assists in conducting confidential studies, analysis and special projects relative to the day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, goals and objectives and sensitive personnel and labor relations issues.
- Researches, gathers information and independently performs special assignments, some of which are complex, confidential and sensitive in nature.
- Assists with conducting confidential investigations of issues affecting office operations.
- Develops and maintains open lines of communications and effective working relationships within and outside of DoIT.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a public or private organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of professional experience serving as an administrative assistant in a large public or business organization.
- One (1) year of professional experience in planning and developing policies and operational procedures.
- One (1) year of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and organizational skills while multi-tasking multiple projects.
- One (1) year of professional experience conducting confidential studies, tracking key metrics and compiling performance reports to ensure alignment with organizational objectives through effective collaboration with leaderships.
- One (1) year of professional experience managing and coordinating special projects.
- One (1) year of professional experience conducting confidential investigations of issues affecting office operations.
- Ability to develop and prepare comprehensive reports with attention to detail and accuracy utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams and Access.
- Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with others.
- Developed verbal and written communication skills to present information to others with clarity and precision.
