Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, performs journey level information system operations control work in a large enterprise data processing multi-platform computer installation utilizing a variety of operating systems and software and scheduling systems for assigned client agencies. Performs job control procedures; provides error resolution and meets processing deadlines by utilizing basic JCL (Job Control Language) and extensive use of keyboard and data monitoring techniques. Provides input to logs and reports for job documentation. Confers with technical personnel and service vendors to correct job runs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school, supplemented by one year of related data processing experience. Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification. Requires ability to follow complex oral and written instructions. A working knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL), TSO/ISPF, and automated job scheduler software (such as but not limited to CA-Scheduler or Zeke) is preferred.
Work Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Sunday - Thursday (1/2 hour lunch)
