Position Overview
This position is accountable for investigating and processing property damage for and against the department,such as guardrail, potholes, tractor mower rock throws and other third-party claims. The incumbent assists asbackup in processing Workers’ Compensation and Auto Liability claims. This position assists with districtsafety and training programs.

Essential Functions
- Investigates property damage claims and pursues reimbursement for damages to state property quickly and efficiently.
- Ensures repair of damaged state property.
- Effectively collects the payment of claims efficiently and timely.
- Assists with processing of Auto Liability claims.
- Assists with processing medical reports, monitoring and organizing Worker’s Compensation claims.
- Assists with safety and health programs.
- Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules.
- Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor's degree majoring in Business Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Education, Journalism or Psychology; OR Completion of two years of college PLUS one year of experience related to accident investigation and/or processing claims; OR Five years of experience related to accident investigation and/or processing claims.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of the policies controlling the activities administered and the ability to enforce these policies.
- Working knowledge of governmental operations, public finance, and taxation as related to highway activity.
- Working knowledge of management techniques and modern organizational concepts.
- Working knowledge of the function and application of public relations in problem areas.
- Ability to apply statistical and analytical procedures and techniques in problem solving.
- Ability to research, format, compose, and present studies, reports, and recommendations.
