In this role, you will conduct highly complex research, installations, systems generations, configurations, testing and implementation of software relating to enterprise storage and backups. In addition, you will provide highly advanced technical assistance to clients and technicians pertaining to software and operating systems as they relate to backups and storage. This position serves as a technical project lead and coordinator for multiple major and highly complex projects utilizing knowledge of network communication concepts and principles, including server/client network configurations. Essential Functions

  • Under administrative direction, serves as the Data Storage & Backup Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), performing highly complex and enterprise-wide technical services exercising highly substantial creativity and originality for the Midrange Wintel Section.
  • Performs highly complex research, installations, systems generations, configurations, testing and implementation of software relating to enterprise storage and backups.
  • Provides highly advanced technical assistance to clients and technicians pertaining to software and operating systems as they relate to backups and storage.
  • Serves as a technical project lead and coordinator for multiple major and highly complex projects while independently planning, developing, and implementing techniques for gathering and interpreting data.
  • Performs problem diagnostics of highly complex operating systems, servers, backup and storage system connectivity issues and recommends and implements corrective action utilizing knowledge of network communication concepts and principles, including server/client network configurations.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires five (5) years of professional experience with System Services or a related Information Technology field.

Specialized Skills

  • Requires five (5) years of professional experience designing, implementing, and managing backup and storage solutions utilizing hardware such as Pure Storage, Dell/EMC, HPE, Cohesity, or similar technologies with Windows server and Linux server operating systems in a large enterprise environment.
  • Requires five (5) years of professional experience coordinating and leading projects within an information technology organization.
  • Requires five (5) years of professional experience conducting server/client network configurations, DHCP configurations, and DNS configurations.
  • Requires five (5) years of professional experience developing and evaluating complex bid proposals and requirements for storage and backup solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of professional experience designing, implementing, and managing backup and storage solutions utilizing hardware such as Pure Storage, Dell/EMC, HPE, Cohesity, or similar technologies with Windows server and Linux server operating systems in a large enterprise environment.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience coordinating and leading projects within an information technology organization.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience conducting server/client network configurations, DHCP configurations, and DNS configurations.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience developing and evaluating complex bid proposals and requirements for storage and backup solutions.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience serving as a Technical Advisor or similar role, providing expert technical assistance, advice, and guidance regarding highly complex backup and storage solutions, including architecture, engineering, and system interaction within an enterprise-level IT program.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience leading and coordinating IT projects, including managing installations, documentation, testing, and implementation.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience researching state of the art backup and storage technologies to provide high availability and usability for clients.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth technical research and systems analysis to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex issues related to enterprise backup and storage systems, including coordinating resolution efforts across technical teams.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with others.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
