Position Overview
Under direction, serves as Quality Enhancement Training Coordinator. Organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the quality of the development and presentation of training programs for the Division of Developmental Disabilities. Participates in identifying, developing, and delivering training programs and quality enhancement activities to implement organizational change and improvements. Trains developmental disabilities service agency staff responsible for direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities, including but not limited to community integrated living arrangements, state operated developmental centers, developmental training programs and intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities provider. Trains developmental disabilities service agency administration and leadership staff to facilitate organizational quality. Assists in developing training curricula, materials, and programs. Maintains liaison relationships with other Bureau sections, services providers, and interest groups. Travels statewide in the performance of duties.
Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as Quality Enhancement Training Coordinator.
2. Directs inquiries to individuals, institutions, agencies (written and verbal) to elicit information/data, materials, ideas, and emphasis in labor paraprofessional developmental training programs to include the person-first services and supports to people with developmental disabilities and their families.
3. Participates in developing quality enhancement plans, training aids and curriculum, materials, instructions, strategies, and programs for the Bureau.
4. Maintains liaison relationships with other divisions, sections, service providers and interest groups in the formulation of training modules and quality enhancement initiatives.
5. Conducts assessment of videos, films, recordings, webinars, and written materials utilized in the training process to verify compliance with divisional guidelines have been adhered to.
6. Assists in providing training service to agency personnel responsible for the conduct of programs focusing on service delivery, motivation, communication, planning, management, team building and leadership skills.
7. Confers with agency management in the development and administration of training priorities.
8. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration, educational methods, public speaking, or a related field.
2. Requires one year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
Specialized Skills: Of the one year of responsible administrative experience, requires one-year experience in designing and presenting training presentations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Requires the ability to use WebEx systems to provide training.
- Requires competency in using Microsoft Office suite including office tools and teams.
- Requires the ability to effectively present written and oral training material.
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires the ability to travel statewide.
Work Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, Saturday - Sunday off
