Position Overview

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as an EXECUTIVE II (PROPERTY CONTROL/VEHICLE OFFICER). Responsible for managing Agency statewide property control (10 locations) and a motor vehicle fleet in excess of 100 Vehicles.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) PROPERTY CONTROL/VEHICLE OFFICER, responsible for the Agency property control statewide covering ten (10) Locations and the Agency motor vehicle fleet in excess of 100 Vehicles
  • Serves as Property Control Officer for all Agency-wide physical property inventory
  • Serves as Agency Vehicle Officer
  • Establishes and maintains procedures for conducting various technical, managerial, and oversight functions
  • Serves as liaison between DCMS Risk Management, IEPA, and other insurance companies
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires two years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.

Specialized Skills

  • Of the two years of required experience; requires two years of experience in fixed asset accounting, reporting and asset activity; property control of master data and inventory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in fixed asset accounting, reporting and asset activities.
  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in property control of master data and inventory.
  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in interpreting and applying the principles and practices of public and business administration.
  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in working knowledge of the functions of state government, and of the character of relationships between the executive branch with the other branches, and between the State, and higher and lower levels of government.
  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in developing and managing a supportive program.
  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in analyzing administrative problems and adopting an effective course of action.
  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in developing, installing, and evaluating new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in exercising judgment and discretion in developing, implementing, and interpreting departmental policies and procedures.
  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
  • Prefers at least (2) two years of experience in the utilizing a personal computer with knowledge of a Microsoft Word, Access and Excel software.

  • Requires the ability to travel
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching above shoulder level, lifting, and carrying materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
