Position Overview

Provides support to the Manager of Strategic Operations and Preparedness on the overall organization and management of the Inter-Agency Strategic Plan (ISPC). 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates the development of planning products to benefit the Illinois Emergency Management community. 
  2. Integrate into new and existing working groups tasked with the development, refinement, and maintenance of State Emergency Operations Plans. 
  3. Represent IEMA and author operating procedures and guides for use both internally to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency as well as external partners. 
  4. Provide technical support to partners on development and maintenance of planning products in accordance with federal (grant) guidelines and national standards. 
  5. Track and report progress of product development to the Manager of Strategic Operations and Preparedness. 

Minimum Requirements

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college. 
  2. Requires one (1) year experience in Emergency Management/Public Safety in one of the following fields: Emergency Management Agency, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Services, and/or Law Enforcement. 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with NIMS courses. 
  2. Experience with ICS courses.  

Conditions of Employment

  1. Requires the ability to travel. 
  2. Requires the ability to work outside of normal work hours. 
  3. Requires a criminal history check through the Illinois State Police.
