Position Overview
Provides support to the Manager of Strategic Operations and Preparedness on the overall organization and management of the Inter-Agency Strategic Plan (ISPC).
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates the development of planning products to benefit the Illinois Emergency Management community.
- Integrate into new and existing working groups tasked with the development, refinement, and maintenance of State Emergency Operations Plans.
- Represent IEMA and author operating procedures and guides for use both internally to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency as well as external partners.
- Provide technical support to partners on development and maintenance of planning products in accordance with federal (grant) guidelines and national standards.
- Track and report progress of product development to the Manager of Strategic Operations and Preparedness.
Minimum Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college.
- Requires one (1) year experience in Emergency Management/Public Safety in one of the following fields: Emergency Management Agency, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Services, and/or Law Enforcement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NIMS courses.
- Experience with ICS courses.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to travel.
- Requires the ability to work outside of normal work hours.
- Requires a criminal history check through the Illinois State Police.
