The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Services is seeking to hire a motivated candidate to serve as an Executive I assigned to our Employer Locator Services Employment Verification unit. This position serves as a working supervisor; assigns and reviews work; provide guidance and training; plans, manages, and evaluates the Employment Verification program; counsels staff with productivity; analyzes and projects and develops alternative recommendations for operational enhancements for Child Support Services.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills to be successful in evaluating the operations of the tasks of this position.

Essential Functions
- Under direction, serves as an Employment Verification Supervisor in planning, managing, and evaluating the Employment Verification program for the Location Services section of the Bureau of Child Support Services (CSS)- Administrative Operations
- Serves as a working supervisor
- Directs and evaluates the review of individual cases where responsible relatives are delinquent in their child support payments
- Confers with CSS’ main Springfield office and with the Bureau of Fiscal Operations to coordinate activities
- Acts as liaison between the Division of CSS and employers, Circuit Clerks, the Attorney General, the State’s Attorneys, and other states in the interpretation of programs and procedures
- Represents the bureau as a liaison with legal representatives regarding case balance determinations and application of child support law
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college preferably with coursework in business or public administration
- Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of administrative experience interpreting and/or applying state and federal policy as it relates to child support
- Two (2) years of experience analyzing financial distribution, Database Cleanup, and data reconciliation in a Statewide Database System data processing
- Two (2) years of professional experience developing and implementing operational policies, goals, and objectives for a child support program in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Two (2) years of experience working in the child support field
- One (1) year of experience supervising staff
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to pass a national background check prior to employment due to accessing confidential federal tax information
- Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
