Position Overview
Under direct supervision, for a period of six to twelve months, travels to receive classroom and on-the-job training in performing on-site examinations of corporate fiduciaries for the purpose of determining their financial condition, safety and soundness, compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Evaluates the corporate fiduciaries management, operations, internal controls and auditing, earnings, compliance, and asset management. Travels extensively to assigned facilities for examinations.

Essential Functions
- Assists higher level examiners and receives training in conducting or by observing all phases of the examination as assigned and completes exercises designed to increase the examiner’s knowledge.
- Participates in seminars and classroom training to learn more about the industry, state and federal fiduciary laws, rules and regulations, examination methods and procedures, and corporate structures. Travels to conduct these duties.
- Assists higher level examiners in evaluating and determining a corporate fiduciary’s compliance with applicable state and federal laws and rules and regulations, and internal routines and controls using the uniform interagency trust rating system and the department procedures as guidelines. Travels to conduct these duties.
- Assists higher level examiners in communicating with and interviewing officers, directors and employees of corporate fiduciaries in a professional and tactful manner and assists in presenting examination findings. Travels to conduct these duties.
- Assist higher level examiners in gathering information and reviewing the accuracy of a corporate fiduciary’s consolidated report of condition, income and financial statements and the trial balance of fiduciary activities. Verifies trust assets held by the corporate fiduciary or held by other custodians. Travels to conduct these duties.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or banking; or a master’s degree in business administration
This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers at least three years of experience working in a bank or financial institution.
- Prefers at least three years of experience working in information technology, computer science, or similar field.
- Prefers at least two years of auditing experience.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to pass an agency conducted background check.
- Requires the ability to travel frequently and extensively, both in and out of state.
- Requires the possession of a valid, appropriate drivers license, and access to a vehicle for travel.
