Position Overview:
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is looking to fulfill the role of Fiscal Assistant. The Fiscal Assistant supports the agency’s financial operations by performing accounts payable duties, processing vouchers, monthly reporting, reconciliations, and maintaining fiscal recordkeeping. This position assists with payroll processing through data entry and upkeep of automated systems, while ensuring compliance with established financial procedures.

Essential Functions
- Perform accounts payable duties, process vouchers and maintain fiscal records
- Supports payroll and timekeeping functions through data entry and assisting with the upkeep of automated systems
- Oversees property and inventory records to ensure accurate tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of assets
- Ensures financial accuracy through reconciliation of monthly reports
- Oversees double entry ledger, prepares deposits and supports fiscal year-end closing
- Responsible for accounts receivable management
- Supports the agency’s travel and vehicle usage by ensuring compliance and accurate record-keeping
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and one (1) year of technical accounting experience OR requires four (4) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in accounting or financial operations, including voucher payments, and tracking expenditures and monthly reconciliations
- Working knowledge of supporting payroll and timekeeping operations
- Working knowledge applying established accounting methods including reconciling monthly financial reports to ensure accuracy
- Working knowledge with accounting and inventory management procedures
