POSITION SUMMARY

The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Division of Technical Services is seeking to hire a Human Resources Representative. This position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data related to position descriptions for state agencies. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Under general direction, performs professional job classification assignments of limited scope.
  • Utilizes DocuWare software to upload position description documents for electronic record storage.
  • Provides guidance to analysts, agencies, boards, and commissions on the appropriate Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) designation for Personnel Code-covered positions.
  • Provides technical assistance to personnel liaisons, employees, agency supervisors and managers regarding the application of the Personnel Rules, policies, and procedures in relation to the classification of positions and posting of data to the appropriate State personnel systems.
  • Serves as backup timekeeper for the Division.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college.
  • Requires one year of professional experience, preferably in human resources, or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefers one year of experience within the past three years, working with the Personnel Code, Personnel Rules, Position Classification Plan, Pay Plan, collective bargaining agreements, the Comprehensive Employment Plan (CEP), and/or other similar federal, state, or departmental policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Prefers one year of experience within the past three years, working with personnel-related computer systems, such as the Personnel Examination and Eligibility Records System (PEERS), Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Eligibility List System (EELS), SAP Human Capital Management system (Success Factors) or similar system, DocuWare, Mobius Reports, Microsoft 365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, Access, Visio, etc.
  • Prefers one year of professional experience learning and working with the Illinois state government and its processes.
  • Prefers one year of professional experience soliciting and obtaining information/data from people.
  • Prefers one year of professional experience framing correspondence and reports with grammatical correctness.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This position requires the applicant to pass a background check.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime.
