Essential Functions
- Performs a variety of complex, specialized administrative duties for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Serves as the administrative support staff for Field Services.
- Types routine correspondence and responds to inquiries applying general knowledge of Department of Veterans Affairs operations, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains and updates the Veteran Service Office phone lists.
- Receives Stand Up & Be Counted submissions and updates CyberVet profiles to reflect the information submitted.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
- Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, and programs.
- Extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
- Ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment.
- Ability to utilize a personal computer with knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Teams and Excel software.
- Prior honorable military service.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to pass a background check.
- Requires use of agency-supplied equipment (mobile phone, laptop, etc.).
- Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
