Job Responsibilities

Under immediate supervision, participates in an agency-sponsored IT training program for a period of six to a maximum of 24 months; receives formal instruction and on-the-job training as a call center contact at the IT Service Desk (ITSD).  Receives on-the-job training pertaining to basic incident management of Technology services and equipment, basic troubleshooting of incidents, maintaining documentation and coordinating resolution on service requests and incidents.  Assists with development of methods and procedures.  Participate in training programs associated with the ITSD products, services, and processes. Travels in the performance of duties.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requires completion of four years of college, preferably in computer science or a related field, or completion of two years of technical school in computer science or related field, or active enrollment in college with satisfactory completion of 24 semester hours in computer science.  Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program shall have the stated requirements of this classification waived by successful completion of specific proficiency tests and training programs. Requires elementary knowledge of IT concepts and the theories and functions of computer systems, including the design and control of information.  Requires ability to establish and maintain a satisfactory working relationship with customers, employees and management. Requires ability to follow complex oral and written instructions. Requires good oral and written communication skills. Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel.

 

Requires the ability to successfully complete a nationwide background check, which includes fingerprints and photograph, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service Pub 1075.

Work Hours:  8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday
