Job Responsibilities

Under immediate supervision of the Supervisor, Enterprise License/Permit, performs limited maintenance and enhancements to existing programs and gains knowledge assisting in performing limited assignments related to the maintenance and the development of new programs of increasing difficulty; serves as member of a team providing a full range of information technology services for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EA&A) support systems. Performs modifications to existing programs. Assists in fact-finding and problems resolution. Works with experienced systems analyst in preparing testing specifications and developing test data for all modified programs. Performs testing and debugging. Prepares and maintains written documentation for assigned tasks. Travels to and attends meetings, training, seminars, etc.

  •  Performs limited maintenance and enhancements to existing programs and gains knowledge assisting in performing limited assignments related to the maintenance and the development of new programs of increasing difficulty; performs modifications to existing program code by following written specifications, written narrative and/or verbal direction and by using the accepted software tools required for the associated platform and programming environment, including diagnostic testing of various software components; implements required fixes to correct problems defined during diagnostics adhering to all DoIT/EAA adopted standards and methodology; documents problems and corrective action.
  • Serves as member of a team providing a full range of information technology services for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EA&A) support systems. Assists in fact-finding and analysis to resolve problems relating to user procedures/training and software malfunctions.
  • Works with experienced analysts in preparing testing specifications and developing test data for all modified programs. Performs testing and debugging of all assigned programs ensuring all logic paths are tested and pre-determined results are verified according to established methods and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains written documentation for assigned tasks. Assists lead analyst in the configuration, testing, installation, and documentation, including revisions and corrections for both the online and batch environment.
  • Attends formal training sessions to keep abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field; continues education by attending meetings, seminars and conferences to increase familiarity with and maintain current on IT products, systems and vendors to understand the latest technologies; travels when held offsite.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years college with course work in computer science or related fields; or satisfactory completion of an agency sponsored training program. Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program shall have the stated requirements of this classification waived by successful completion of specific proficiency tests and training programs. Requires elementary knowledge oflnformation Technology concepts and principles, the theories and functions of computer systems, and the principles and techniques of lnformation Technology documentation. Requires the ability to analyze data logically. Requires working knowledge of oral and written communication skills. Requires the abiltity to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with others. Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel.
Prefers: A working knowledge of SQL, MS Visio, MS Teams, relational databases, and Microsoft Office Suite. Prefers an elementary knowledge of Graphic User Interface (GUI), Web application design tools, Object Oriented languages/application design theory, concepts, and principles and Hyper-text Markup Language (HTML).
