Job Responsibilities

Under immediate supervision, assists in email account provisioning and providing technical support and assistance to end users of the Enterprise Email network; supports the Enterprise Mobile Device Request system; provides information and problem solving through telephone support or direct contact with e-mail users on operating procedures; performs limited upgrades and maintenance of migration servers; works on various projects using various hardware/software systems and applications; lifts equipment up to 30 pounds. Conducts training sessions for end users and staff; attends meetings, conferences and formal training classes; travels in performance of duties. Serves on an on-call basis.

  • Assists in email account provisioning and providing technical support and assistance to end users of the Enterprise Email network; supports the Enterprise Mobile Device Request system; performs end-user applications and systems support by working with experienced systems analysts; participates with senior analyst in determining and coordinating user's needs, availability, accessibility mode, location and configuration of the e-mail client; assists in the provision of device acquisition and activation and in determining most effective transport to the e-mail server.
  • Provides information and problem solving through telephone support or direct contact with e-mail users on operating procedures; assists users with problems and follows-up to ensure problem resolution; serves on an on-call basis.
  • Performs limited upgrades and maintenance of migration servers including ListServer, Rightfax and other software; communicates with agency, help desk, management team and post migration team ensuring modified procedures are accurately distributed; meets with professional staff and end users to plan and coordinate migration by determining platform type, disk space, number of users, physical location, servers and business needs that could conflict with scheduling.
  • Works on various projects as a team member using hardware/software systems and applications including Active Directory, eDirectory, Microsoft Desktop OS, Exchange Client, Mobile Iron, ListServer and Rightfax server administration and our Mobile Device Request System.
  • Assists in training end users by providing one-on-one training via email and/or via phone support; submits documentation to supervisor on issues and/or problems. Reports any trending problem issues to management.
  • Attends formal training sessions to keep abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field; continues education by attending meetings, seminars and conferences to increase familiarity with and maintain current on IT products, systems and vendors to understand the latest technologies; travels when held offsite.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields; or satisfactory completion of an agency sponsored training program. Requires elementary knowledge of Information Technology concepts and principles, the theories and functions of computer systems, and the principles and techniques of Informational Technology documentation. Requires working knowledge of oral and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision. Requires working knowledge of hardware and software, languages, and procedures to provide assigned technical support services. Requires ability to lift equipment up to 30 lbs. Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel and serve on-call.
Specialized Skills: Requires working knowledge of Active Directory, eDirectory, Microsoft Desktop OS and applications including Exchange Client, Mobile Iron, ListServer and Rightfax server administration, and basic knowledge of e-mail migration methods and procedures.

 

This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.

 

Requires the ability to successfully complete a nationwide background check, which includes fingerprints and photograph, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service Pub 1075.
